According to YS-Audio Nelson, I try to explain in more simplify way:
Price:
A2 ~7.5k (R2-SE ~11k)
A2-SE is same as A2 except "mod" the capacitors and the connectors to big brand (add 1k for capacitor upgrade, add 2.5k for connectors upgrade)
Ref1 ~3 times of A2

A2 uses coupling capacitor (the sound comes from capacitor, like most pre-amp does in market, good capacitor results good sound)
Ref-1 use line output transformer (he said 4 transforms for 2 channels, sound from transformer, good transformer results good sound)

This is the major difference...
A2 makes capacitor sound, ref-1 makes transformer sound... The major difference according to Nelson is that, capacitor is weaker when it requires lot of high current output (e.g. lot of bass sound) because capacitor needs recharge. But the burst current is higher for capacitor design. Some people like capacitor sound and will not like the sound of ref-1 (he said just like most people believes that RCA is better sound than XLR)

Also,
A2 has remote, has AV bypass
A2 uses solid-state regulator, Ref-1 uses 6X4 Tube for current regulator.
Ref-1 no remote (due to design of vol adjust button, it use array of resistors, so not easy to add remote), no AV bypass

Note that:
Ref-1 uses better resistors, better volume control, external power supply (to avoid interference with line output transformer.
There will be a "remote control" version of Ref-1 coming 2 months later, with remote + av bypass + phase invert. On the remote, you can select: main vol, L/R individual vol, mute, input select, av bypass, phase invert. A small two digit LCD display will be added to the front panel to display volume (-xx Db).

Spec is dead, listen yourself is the best...

I just tell what I understand after listening to him, you may email him (info@ys-audio.com) to ask for detail. He's too technical...

One more thing, remember to make an appointment, don't ad-hoc walk-in as only Nelson will serve you, his partner just work in warehouse and he will not entertain any visitor.

The difference is:
1. Use Western Electric tube (ebay about 200USD), $1600
2. Use 4 line output trans (http://www.eifl.co.jp/index/export/ISO.html), $5400
3. Good resistor (don't know the cost...)

做生意都要有利潤, 同外國比真係好平...
如果可以diy就更平啦...
