My sharing on testing Pioneer LX-81 & Onkyo 3007

Yesterday I went to a shop to test & compare Pioneer LX 81 and Onkyo 3007 (because of the similar price range)
Though i have a pair of ears worse than wooden ears (i call myself "concrete ears"), but i did hear the significant difference between these 2 models.

For movie, we tried Red Cliff 2 - collect the arrows scene by Focal lab speakers & Sunfire subwoofer.
LX 81: The arrows were flying from the sky towards the screen, I could hear the arrows sound towards us one by one frequently. But the sound is still a bit harsh and sharp for me (I experienced it in Post 76 LX72/82 event before, esp U 571 testing scene).

Onkyo 3007: The sound is not as loud as LX81 (I believe this is because of different volume level), but I could not hear the arrows sound one by one clearly, or I should describe it as "a basket of arrows" pour towards the ships. On the other hand, more bass can be heard, but it is not in good clarity (or say it booming).

In conclusion for movie, LX-81 can hear much more details though the sound of LX81 is a bit harsh & sharp, but it is comparatively more acceptable than listening the booming and not clear sound. And I believe if we use the "thick" voice speakers and cables can help to improve the sharp & harsh voices..... So I vote for LX81

For music, we connect a pioneer cdp by rca and using Harbeth speakers.
Onkyo 3007: The feeling is approaching mid level int amp, it is warm & quite sweet.

LX 81: The feeling is more "electronical"... just simply like playing mp3, though can still hear the detail....

In conclusion for music, 3007 completely beats 81... nothing more need to say....

If I have something wrong, please do not beat my head"s".....

Actually I can type chinese, but i will type for hours lol... Im too lazy to learn hard on chinese typing la...

Thanks for bringing out this point....
Personally I didnt see significant difference between these 2.... I just tested bluray and they are using 500A....
I remember some chings did mention Onkyo should have better video part, but personally i am neutral to this.

oic...for the hardware of video part...3007 should be much better.
