TRANS-X is a Canadian Montreal based electronic band actively in the 80's popular with the LIVING ON VIDEO (English) and VIVRE SUR VIDEO (French) in 1981, as the video tape (similar to nowadays technology 4G, 3G or MP3, FLAC, etc) is the new product in the 80's, so the song capturing that hot topic thing in that contemporary and becomes a popular dance hit

wow! DIVINE must be a really legendary thing and irresistible successful drag-queen to be recalled in the discotheques and dance music field some people may compare him with our local MARIA CORDERO (even looks fat but has strong unique voice and able to really sing impressively)


I remember I saw his appearance @ ANDREW BULL's CANTON DISCO in Tsimshatsui in he 80's which really inspires me what a man can do whatever he determined to be...


If you (new generation) really want to know his glamor more, check out his JOHN WATERS movie side (POLYESTER 1981, HAIRSPRAY 1988) but please be prepared you need to be more considerate and liberal mind (don't-simply-just-always-complain-complain-complain-attitude like those on this web) to appreciate

Canadian group? I only know one group from Canada - KON KAN ...I think HK focussed too much on dance music from the U.S. Billboard/European/UK Dance Charts in the 80s. Those pop groups from other countries who could not make it to these main charts were hardly popular...

Anyway, most "veteran" electronic groups have all disappeared today, except only one or two who are still actively making music and that's pretty sad.

Canada also has unique music creativity and music scene, such as another Montreal electronic band RATIONAL YOUTH

well, if you love music, you may need to try different channels such as discotheque / club scene (best media if you can go there and stay late, usually good music is playing after midnight),
nowadays has internet territories (so many INDIE scene but not too much mainstream effect),
television (kind of active and large platform but the choice of music are not proactive enough),
movie (kind of passive media but very effective to reach mass audiences),
radio (nowadays rarely plays good music but nourish the phone-in complain culture in hong kong)

in the past, roller-skating (TAIKOOSHING CENTER), bowling or beach provided a good media to catch new trendy music, but now it is different

UK HUMAN LEAGUE still singing and playing Philip Oakey must be LIKED!!! (UK electronic grandfather)

Human league also is "half dead"...electronic dance groups cannot usually survive long...except one group of course
