low latency should better than normal one,however 14.04not yet have real time kernel set,so if you conpile itself,you may install real time kernel yourself
btw...ubuntu studio is by default usind low latency

The low latency kernel could be install and it does not need to compile by myself.
Also, Ubuntu does not provide real time kernel anymore instead low latency.
yes, as I known ubuntu home or server version not come with low latency, but ubuntu studio by default using low latency and with some software already, you can consider it.
also...real time kernel for debian still exist so you can compile yourself

I don't want to spend too much time on learning and compiling kernel since my IT knowledge is not good.
Besides, Debian cannot be installed on LIVA and only Ubuntu can be installed so that I don't know whether Debian RT kernel could be compiled on the latest Ubuntu without any problem.
